Judge B P Deshpande of the Special Court on Thursday asked the investigating agency to file a reply within eight days.
The court also directed Crime Branch to attach the file pertaining to the case from the North Goa Collector’s office and adjourned the case to March 28.
Opposing the plea for further time, advocate Aires Rodrigues submitted that Crime Branch was intentionally dragging its feet in the investigation to shield Parulekar.
On a petition filed by Rodrigues under Section 156 (3) of the Criminal Procedure Code, the Mapusa JMFC had directed Porvorim Police to register an FIR for offences under Sections 119, 120, 420 read with 120-B of the Indian Penal Code, against Parulekar, Peter Martins, then attorney of Comunidade of Serula and Irene Sequeira, then Administrator of Comunidade of Bardez. The investigation was later transferred to Crime Branch.
Rodrigues in his complaint had drawn the court’s attention that the 599 sq mts of prime land at Porvorim was given to Parulekar without auction and without following procedures under the Code of Comunidade and that the intention was to fraudulently facilitate the doling out of prime comunidade land to Parulekar.
