PANJIM: Health Minister Laxmikant Parsekar announced a grant of Rs 5 lakh each as a one-time grant to around 35 panchayats whose revenues have supposedly dipped. Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said that the government was not rigid when it came to the Rs 1-crore infrastructure grant for panchayats and that the sanction could be as much as 25% higher and the final expense up to another 25% higher, making panchayats eligible for a total of Rs 1.5 crore under the scheme.
