MARGAO: The Davorlim gram sabha on Sunday could not shortlist a site for disposal of garbage generated in the city.
At the meeting held on Sunday, the waste disposal issue came up for discussions, wherein members demanded to know whether the panchayat has identified a suitable site for the disposal of waste.
Sarpanch Niasso informed the members that the panchayat has so far not finalised any site for waste disposal.
The issue of encroachments on communidade land also figured at the meeting. Sarpanch informed that members raised the issue, by demanding to know whether the structures that have come up on communidade land have the required documents.
On the Davorlim-Nessai road four-laning project, members sought to know whether the PWD had made any correspondence with any of the local villagers affected by the road widening. After much discussion, it was resolved to ask the panchayat body to write to the PWD to find out whether any local party is affected by the road widening.
On the development front, the sarpanch informed that the panchayat has resolved to take up desilting of the nullah in the village.
