CALANGUTE: St Savio Sports Club, Calangute prevailed over Xetrapal Sports Club 6-5 on penalties after being held to a goalless draw to book their place in the final of Norman De Souza memorial football tournament organised by St Anthony’s Sports Club, Marna, at St Anthony’s Church ground, Siolim, on Wednesday.
Both the teams played an attacking football and came close to scoring on couple of occasions but their forwards failed to score.
The winners were decided on penalties.
Pedro Gonsalves, Agnelo Fernandes, Aiken Dias, Deep Govekar, Sameer Chodankar and Sarvanand Korgaonkar converted for St Savio Sports Club while Sherwin Lobo, Vipul Pednekar, Mukund Shirodker, Salim Shirodker and Srinath Narvekar were on target for Xetrapal Sports Club.
St Savio Sports Club now await the winners of Milagres Sports Club, Mapusa and Friends XI, Vaddem in the final.
