Tamil Nadu beat Andhra Pradesh by 64 runs in South Zone U-19 Vinoo Mankad cricket tournament at Nehru Stadium, Fatorda on Monday.
TN won the toss and chose to bat. They scored 223 for seven in 50 overs. Bharat K decorated his innings with six fours as he topscored with 86 runs off 131 balls. B Indrajit remained unbeaten on 54 and was well supported by V.Ganga Raju (46).
For AP, Sneha Kishore was the most successful bowler scalping three for 48 while HR Sirla scalped two for 34. G Sham Sundra and C Vinod Kaumar took one wicket each.
AP were bundled out for 159 in 44.3 overs. B Shivacharan Singh started on a positive note for AP with 36 runs. Mahaboobasha (32) and Vinod Kumar (29) added some respect to the score but it was not enough.
Kerala beat hosts Goa at Porvorim by 25 runs in another match.
Karnataka after restricting Hyderabad to 252 for 8 in 50 overs, lost six wickets and scored 253 in 49.4 overs on the strength of Shishsir Bhavani’s fine century (102) studded with 13 hits to the fence and two sixes at BITS, Vasco. Karun Nair 63 (7×4) and Sammart R 58 were other top scorers for Karnataka.
