BICHOLIM: The Tillari canal at Khanyale Sateli-Bhedshi in Dodamarg which gave way on Monday, will have a severe affect on farmers from Goa.

The incident also caused traffic jam on the Tillari-Goa road and huge loss of water.
The water later entered the nearby river causing a floodlike situation.
According to the information available, the left side of the Tillari canal gave way and the entire water came on the road causing a traffic jam on the Goa-Tillari road for some time.
A huge crowd gathered to see the canal. People immediately blamed the contractor and poor quality of work.
Tillari canal supplies water to Goa and now with breaking of this canal, farmers from Sal and other areas who are totally dependent on this water will be affected.
