MARGAO: The Citizens of Goa, which includes village committees, NGOs and Goans For Dabolim Only (GFDO), has criticised Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar for ruling out scrapping RP 2021 on the ground that it would be ‘unfair’.
The activist group has demanded the scrapping of the Regional Plan 2021 in total and has even prepared to approach the courts to stall the Regional Plan from being notified.
In an open letter to the chief minister, the group has demanded a complete moratorium on conversion of lands and construction licences to big projects. The group soon plans to meet the chief minister over this issue which they claim would be the last attempt to get their demands fulfilled.
“The plan as claimed by the chief minister was made by experts and the Town and Country Planning Department changed it totally. The proof of which is Dr Edgar Rebeiro resigning from the committee and the Former Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar in his public statement calling the TCP corrupt,” Siddharth Karapurkar said.
The group further said that they would try to meet him to convince that the RP2021 should be scrapped.
