In the first half, the teams had equal number of opportunities to score but their strikers lacked finishing.
Navelim created a good opening in the sixth minute but Sukhdev Arwade’s solo effort was foiled by the rival defence.
Crossing over, the trend continued as Navelim came close to scoring through Sukhdev, whose header hit the upright and the ball went out of play.
There after, in the 43rd minute, Navelim squandered a golden opportunity as Cajie Fernandes failed to guide his header towards the goal off a cross by Santano Pereira.
