PORVORIM: Porvorim Police has arrested Arthur Alias Kennedy Lawrence (39), who was declared a proclaimed offender in connection with a series of cheating cases.
Porvorim Police said there were nine cases booked against the accused in various police stations at Porvorim, Bicholim, Mapusa and Margao, where he was accused of cheating youth and collecting several lakhs of rupees from them on the pretext of sending them abroad. The cases were registered
A warrant was issued against him by a court and Porvorim Police received a tip that the accused was residing in a rented flat at Raia.
A police team kept a close watch on him and nabbed him at 11.30 pm on Wednesday.
He was produced before the Judicial Magistrate First class on Thursday and has been remanded to judicial custody.
