PANJIM: SFAL Peoples Panjim emerged winners of the Group A in the first Bocce Tournament for the Special school children as part of its 1st State Level Sports Competitions for Special School Children, organised by Sports Authority of Goa, at the SAG Athletics Stadium Bambolim, recently.
Gujarati Samaj Margao emerged send while St Xavier’s Old Goa bagged third place in the Group A boys category, in Girls Category Lok Vishwas Mollem, SFAL People’s Panjim and Keshav Seva Sadhana, Valpoi bagged first second and third place respectively.
In Group B boys, Keshav Seva Sadhana, Bicholim, Disha Panjim and Lok Vishwas, Ponda emerged first second and third respectively.
While in the girls category, Sanjay Special School, Curchorem emerged first followed by Lok Vishwas, Marcel and Sanjay School, Vasco in third place.
In Group C boys, Lok Vishwas Honda came first while Lok Vishwas Ponda bagged the second followed by Lok Vishwas Mollem in third. In the girls category, Chetna Edu Sox. Curchorem emerged winners followed by New Dawn Ashadeep Vasco while Lok Vishwas Canacona finished in third place.
34 teams from 17 special schools participated in the tournament. SAG Executive Director shri. V.M. Prabhudessai declared the tournament open while Chief Guest Sidharth Kuncalienkar (MLA Panjim and Chairman EDC) set the ball rolling for the finals of different groups in boys and girls categories and awarded the medals and certificates to the winners, runners-up and third placed teams.
