Govt working hard to boost co-operative sector: Minister

MARGAO: Co-operative sector plays an important role in uplifting the economy of the country, and hence the Central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is trying hard in maintaining the independent identity and giving boost to the co-operative sector, stated Minister for Transport Mauvin Godinho. 

Addressing the gathering at the recently held programme of Madgaon School Complex Co-operative Credit Society, here, the Minister also said that the State government is dedicatedly working hard in order to give boost to the co-operative sector.

Annual felicitation of meritorious children of the Madgaon School Complex Co-operative Credit Society was organised wherein Godinho attended the function as a guest. Over 70 students from SSC to Post Graduate along with Sports and Extracurricular activities were felicitated with certificate, memento and cash award. 

He further appreciated the work done by the Madgaon School Complex Co-operative Society in the field of cooperation and education and appealed to spread its presence not only across Goa but move out of Goa in the neighbouring States. 

Since the society is using technology to reach out to its members, Godinho urged the society to adopt the same for the purpose of encouragement and enhancement of the skills of the student community.
