MAPUSA: With a slogan ‘Let’s not talk about change but be the change’ saying it all, MLA Michael Lobo appealed to the people of Calangute and Candolim to vote for his panels ‘Candolim Development Front’ and ‘Together for Calangute’.
MLA Michael Lobo said “Young and dynamic people have come forward and intend to work for the people. It’s time to vote for them and get over with the 30 years editorship in Calangute by one person. People want change in Calangute and they will create the change in the coming Panchayat polls. Whatever development work was being carried by the MLA was stopped by the Panchayat in the last five years. Calangute being the No. 1 tourist destination, it has not seen the required development since the MLA and Panchayat are moving in two different directions. I believe the Panchayat and the MLA should work together, only then will there be a planned development.”
He went on to say that Under ‘Candolim Development Front’, the agenda was to develop Candolim. The garbage from Aradi is in process of being cleared. Infrastructure development such as children’s park, volleyball court, joggers park is being planned which is beyond people’s expectations. To solve the water problem, a self independent water pipeline for Candolim was needed and this panel would work for it.
