Directorate of Mines and Geology (DMG) signed Form K under the Mineral Concession Rule (MCR) of four leases belonging to V M Salgaocar & Bro Pvt Ltd (TC No- 50/53, 13/55, 29/54 and 83/52) and one belonging to Kunda Gharse (51/52). The lease agreement was signed by Mines Director Prasanna Acharya and the parties.
“We have signed lease deed agreements with five leases. With signing of lease agreements, their mining suspension also stands lifted,” Acharya said, adding that the lease renewals are done for a period of 20 years in the interest of mineral development.
DMG had on October 5 issued second renewal order to 13 mining leases under Section 8(3) of Mines and Minerals Development and Regulation (MMDR) Act, 1957, the renewal that was due since 2007. The order states that the renewals are done in the interest of mineral development. These 13 mines are from the list of 28 leases that had paid the stamp duty to the government for renewal of their mines.
The lease agreement with Chowgule & Co Pvt Ltd, Sesa Goa Ltd, Sociedade Timblo Irmaos Limitada, Lithoferro, Geetabala Manohar Naik Parulekar, Rajaram Bandekar Pvt Ltd, G N Agarwal, Madachem Bhat Mines Pvt Ltd and Bandekar Bro Pvt Ltd will be signed either on Saturday or next week.
