After a barren first half both the sides took on the field with renewed energy where Saligao should have taken the lead in the 45th minute, however, Earl Sequeira’s header missed the target narrowly.
Vaddem took the lead in the 48th minute with Pundalik Naik tapping in the ball from close range, 1-0.
Finding themselves down by a goal Saligao pressed hard for the equalizer and were rewarded in the 52nd minute when Earl Sequeira set the ball on platter to Latesh Mandrekar who finished off with a firm placement.
With the match ending in a draw, the tie-breaker was enforced where Averisto Fernandes, Latesh Mandrekar, Jayesh Chopdekar and Jason D’Mello scored Saligao United while only Denzil Sequeria shot on target for Vaddem.
