Mapusa: Two tourists, Abdul Nadim and Pravin Surendra from Tamil Nadu, died following a get-together on Vagator Beach on Sunday.
According to Anjuna police, the deceased, along with three other friends, had come here for the weekend.
During interrogation, the victims’ friends said both the deceased had left the party spot without any specific reasons.
Later, when they returned, both Pravin and Abdul complained about uneasiness.
They were rushed to the hospital where the doctor declared them dead. Police suspect an overdose of drug but are waiting for the post-mortem report to ascertain the cause of death. Autopsy would be done on Monday.
Police said that they did not find traces of drug or any other related substance. Probe is on.
Sources further said WRD Minister and Local MLA of Siolim Constituency Vinod Palyekar has asked North SP Chandan Chowdary to investigate the drug angle if any.
Meanwhile, in another case one Achinto Rup Banerjee (20) from Andhra Pradesh was arrested today for possessing drug worth Rs 20,000 by the Anjuna police at a guest house at small Vagator, Bardez.
