MARGAO: Tyla Fernandes a Standard IVth student of Blooms International School, Margao set new meet records at the 37th State level Primary & Middle school sport meet held at P.J.N. Stadium, Fatorda.
Tyla Tyla participating in the under-10 yrs sprint disciplines bagged the individual championship for girls, creating a new meet record in the 50 meters run with a timing of 7:78 secs, the old record being 7:93 secs and in the 100 meters sprint with a timing of 14:78 secs she overcame the prevailing record of 15:05 secs. She is the daughter of Tony Fernandes and Luiza Fernandes of Verna.
Salcete Taluka won the overall championship winning the general championship in under -13 yrs girls, under -10 yrs girls, Under -10 yrs boys athletics.
Chelsea Crasto from Perpetual Succour Convent High School, Navelim bagged the individual championship for Girls under -13 yrs. Meanwhile in football, Salcete Taluka clinched both the Under -13 yrs boys and girls football tournament.
