MARGAO: Former Sarpanch Inacio Dias has filed a plea before the Director of Panchayats for the disqualification of Sarpanch Deepa D Naik and Panch members Jose Agnelo Dias from the membership of the Aquem-Baixo Panchayat body.
The first hearing of the disqualification petition against the duo is fixed in the first week of April.
In his petition, Inacio prayed to the Panchayat director to disqualify and remove the Sarpanch and the Panch member from the membership of the Panchayat body under section 50(4) & 5 read with section 210-A for allegedly committing misconduct, misuse and abuse of power in discharging the duties as Sarpanch and member of the Panchayat.
He claimed that the sarpanch had signed and issued a provisional NOC to the Panch member on September 28, 2012 based on a resolution when she had handed over the charge to the deputy sarpanch between September 21 and October 10. “The Act of signing the NOC when the sarpanch was on leave amounts to committing misconduct and misuse of power,” Inacio added.
