PANJIM: Firehawks and Lion Warriors (IOG –Central) emerged champions in the Rakshak Cricket League, organised by Vedanta Sesa Goa Iron Ore Business, in the women’s and men’s categories respectively.
While Firehawks defeated Powerpuff Girls in women’s final, Lion Warriors defeated The Challengers (IOG- South)

The tournament was organised in line with its commitment towards encouraging fitness, sports, and nurturing teamwork and coordination among its employees and business partners. The event witnessed overwhelming participation from 100 + players, who played for eight different teams (six men teams and two women teams). Teams competed in respective categories for the championship title.
Speaking about the tournament, Vishal Mandrekar, PSI, Bicholim Police Station, said, “I thank Vedanta Limited for inviting me for the kick start of Rakshak League. It was a wonderful event that was organised by the company for its security personnel who are the real heroes. It was a great experience for me, and it was encouraging to see the team spirit and coordination among the players.”
