PANJIM: A 29-year-old local from Divar is arrested for allegedly possessing drugs. The Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) sleuths caught the man for possessing suspected ganja (2.5 kgs) worth Rs 2.50 lakh approximately during a raid during the late hours of Thursday.
The accused is arrested under relevant sections of the NDPC Act and remanded by the court for custodial interrogation.

In another offence, the Crime Branch on Friday raided a gambling den at Maulinguem in Bicholim and arrested five persons. The raiding team also seized Rs 53,000 approximately from the spot.
Crime Branch raided another gambling den at Navelim Margao on Friday and arrested one other person for the offense. During the raid gambling articles and cash of Rs 20,060 was seized from the arrested person.
