MARGAO: Joao Albuquerque alias Johnny, panch of Ward No. 3 Cana-Benaulim was elected unopposed to the post of deputy sarpanch of Village Panchayat of Cana-Benaulim.
In the election process, 10 out of 11 panchayat members attended the exercise. Panchayat member Menino Fernandes alias Menino de Bandar had resigned as deputy sarpanch in the month of August to make way for electing the new deputy sarpanch.
