The road is a two lane highway and an extension of the Eastern Bypass for the NH 17B. But the stretch of road is perennially dug up for burst pipes and some ongoing sewerage pipeline scam that is laid over and over again. Every time this is done, one side of the road is continuously closed and one lane of the highway doubles up for both sides of traffic making it dangerous. The photo clicked by Sanjay Sawant Dessai and posted on Facebook shows how dangerously the potholed road is used for two lane traffic. Actually there is no road at all and only potholes seem to comprise the path making this space very dangerous for riders. Even worse, this stretch of road is low lying and is flooded on a daily basis making it difficult for pedestrians along the road and two wheeler riders.
