PANJIM: The GIDC has explained that the Board is considering to regulate transfer of industrial plots through a laid down procedure, which will bring transparency and accountability in the system.
Director Industries F O Hashmi said that the transfer of plots have been put on hold with respect to new applications received after June 18, 2012, which would be subject to new regulations to be notified shortly.

Hashmi also explained that it is not mandatory provision that 80 per cent locals be employed but that incentives are given to industries employing 80 per cent locals.
