MARGAO: Objecting to the inauguration of the hot-mixing work at Comba by local MLA Digambar Kamat, the Margao BJP Mandal on Thursday alleged that it was because of the legislator that the work was kept pending for the last 16 years.

The BJP Margao and their workers were excited and had sent messages to people that after continuous follow-up and correspondence by the local BJP karyakartas, the hot mixing of Comba roads will commence at the hands of PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar.
“The roads in Comba will be hot mixed after approx 16 years. Finally, residents of Comba will be free from bumpy and muddy roads,” the message read.
However, Margao MLA Kamat inaugurated the work even before the BJP workers could arrive.
The Margao BJP workers questioned the PWD engineers as to why they were present at the inauguration of hotmixing work by Margao MLA and not with the PWD Minister.
“This MLA Digambar Kamat has made the people wait for 27 years for works as basic as water supply. All the works that have happened now have been done by the BJP government led by former Chief Minister late Manohar Parrikar,” claimed Naik.
PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar who later inaugurated the work of road hotmixing at Vitthal Mandir in Comba said, “The work of water pipeline, sewage line, and road work was planned and put forth by the former CM late Manohar Parrikar. The work of sewerage work is almost complete and the remaining work of house connections will also be done”.
Pauskar assured to communicate the confusion that happened in Comba to the Chief Minister.
Meanwhile, the Margao MLA has demanded action against the BJP workers for allegedly manhandling the PWD Engineers at the site.
Kamat said all the people from Margao know who is getting the works sanctioned for the town and they know who is facilitating the development.
The Margao Block Congress Committee also demanded that the BJP workers be booked for physically assaulting the PWD engineers.
They alleged that the publicity hungry BJP workers resorted to highhandedness and physically assaulted the PWD engineers, who were on duty during the commencement of hot mixing of roads at Comba in Margao constituency. They claimed that Margao MLA followed up with the PWD and ensured that the tenders are floated for hot mixing of roads in the entire town. The hot mixing of roads was taken in the Comba area after completing the repairs of the sewerage pipeline.
