A native from Srirangam Trichy, Tamil Nadu, was found hanging from the ceiling fan of a room of Hotel Sunrise based on the 18th June Road, opposite Susheela Building, here.
Police gave the name of the deceased as R Laxmikant, 26, as found on his driving license. They said it was learnt from the hotel staff that the youth had used a bed-sheet to commit the act.
They said hotel records showed that the deceased had checked in on May 18 and Tuesday he had paid money for the number of days he stayed.
Police said they were trying to contact the family from a phone number found on the license. Till late evening they had not managed to make contact with the family in Tamil Nadu.
