OLD GOA, MARCH 29 A 55-year-old man from Chamunda Enclave, Santa Cruz, died in a collision between a scooter and car near Four Pillar's, Santa Cruz, on Monday morning.

A 55-year-old man from Chamunda Enclave, Santa Cruz, died in a collision between a scooter and car near Four Pillar’s, Santa Cruz, on Monday morning.
According to Old Goa PSI Dattaguru Sawant, the accident occurred when Jeevan Naik, who was on his way from Santa Cruz to Panjim on his Activa scooter (GA-07-D-4658), collided against an oncoming Ford Ikon car (GA-09-A-2093).
Car driver Dattaprasad Gauns of Vodhlem Bhat, Taleigao, shifted Jeevan to GMC Hospital in Bambolim, where he breathed his last. Jeevan had sustained head injuries.
Old Goa Police later shifted the body to GMC mortuary and the post mortem will be done on Tuesday, informed PSI Sawant.
Police arrested car driver Gauns under Section 279/304 for rash and negligence driving and for culpable homicide, but was later released on bail.
Police is investigating the case.
