PANJIM: Karen Estrocio brillinace enabled GFDC Dona Paula Lioness to record a thumping 8-0 win over GFDC Arambol in the Khelo India U-17 Women’s LEague organised by SAG in association with GFA at Bambolim Athletic Stadium, on Friday.
Karen Estrocio was the highlight of the day as the girl scored four goals scoring half of them in the first half.
Janice Vaz opened the scoring in the 13th minute and Karen doubled the account in the 21`st minute before scoring her brace in the 41st minute to gain a three-goal advantage in the first session.
In the second half, Karen continued her dominance over the rivals –Arambol, who were totally overpowered by their opponents. Karen completed her hat-trick in the 48th minute and scored the fourt in the 55th minute. Thais Maria scored a brace and Donea Fernandes was the other goal getter for the winners.
Deputy Chief Minister Manohar (Babu) Ajgaonkar, was the chief guest for the inaugural function while Member of Parliment Francisco Sardinha, SAG Executive Director VM Prabhudesai and Goa Football Development Council Member Secretary Aleixo Da Costa were also present.
