AAP complains to CBI over grounded ship

MARGAO: The Aam Aadmi Party has filed their complaint against Nu Shi Nalini before the Central Bureau of Investigation. The ship carrying over 2000 tonnes of naphtha is grounded off Marival beach.
This was informed by AAP Seafarers Cell head Capt Venzy Viegas and AAP environment cell in-charge Siddharth Karapurkar at a press briefing on Saturday.
AAP said that one month has passed telling the MPT and Government of Goa the processes to overcome and refloat the ship but they have not taken note.
“The CM has been changing his stands and now the MPT has said that the same will be on E-auction,” Capt Viegas said.
“We want to protect the environment and Customs duty has to be paid this has to happen in parallel. But nothing is happening. If the e-auction is going to happen and if the cargo gets declared as contaminated cargo and even after the owner revealing that the Cargo is clean product, we will have to go to court if they go ahead in this manner,” Capt Viegas said.
“The government does not really care. Who is responsible if the boat cracks and fuel flows out? Everything, IFFI and Vibrant Goa are happening while this big threat looms large without any action just to protect the big wigs,” Capt Viegas said.
