TIVIM: The constituents of Tivim have very little or nothing to cheer in terms of basic amenities. For years, the residents feel “betrayed” by the incumbent MLA on all fronts as the constituency is plagued with problems regarding the basic amenities such as water and power supply.
Tivim is an important gateway into North Goa as the home to a major railway station.
The locals complained that the local MLA has failed to fulfil the promises with regards to water supply and electricity. They claimed that the legislator had assured them he would resolve all their problems and that he would stand by them but in vain.
The locals complained of water scarcity, as they claimed that were assured of 24×7 water supply and electricity. They complained of frequent water pipeline ruptures which leads to water scarcity for weeks and even months.
Tivim does not have a bus stop, forcing the locals to wait in the scorching summer heat and heavy rain during monsoons.
The major issue of garbage has remained unsolved for years, which has left several areas stinking.
Unemployment is another issue that has plagued the constituency as highly qualified youth have been waiting for jobs for years.
The Colvale Sports Complex is in a deplorable condition and to add to this the constituency has no children’s park.
