U-14, U-16 cricket trials
PANJIM: The Goa Cricket Association has selected 430 players in U-14 and U-16 after the school tournament conducted by GCA. The second phase will take place at GCA ground from April 22 to May 2 under the guidance of Nuwan Zoysa and Sandeep Dahad. Later, 30 boys each in under-14 and under-16 will be selected for GCA’s residential academy.

Football tourney at Valpoi
VALPOI: Remeries Sports Club, Valpoi will organise their first all-Goa 7-a-side football tournament at Forest Training School ground, Valpoi on April 21 and 28. The winners will be awarded Rs 10,000 plus a trophy while the runner-up will get Rs 5,000. The last date to submit entries is April 18. In all, 16 teams will play on April 21. Late Babu Arolkar football
MAPUSA: Candolim Veterans will take on Chinchinim Veterans in the inaugural of 1st late Babu Arolkar Veterans football tournament organized by Bardez Veterans at Duler Stadium, here, on April 17, at 5 p.m.
Babu Arolkar was a former Dempo player and GFA referee.
Ponda Veterans, Quepem-Chandor Veterans, Navelim Vetrans, Panjim Veterans, Salgaocar Veterans and Bardez Veterans are the other teams participating.
