MARGAO: A superb brace by substitute striker Alvito Colaco enabled Navelim Sporting Club drub St Savio Sports Club 4-1 to romp into the semi-finals of 38th All Goa Cana Benaulim Cup inter-village football tournament organized by Cana Benaulim Sporting Association, at St John the Baptist ground, Dando-Benaulim, on Sunday.
Navelim Sporting Club led 2-0 at lemon break.
In a one-sided affair, Navelim Sporting Club dominated both the halves and pushed their opponents on the back foot.
The deadlock was broken in the 12th minute when striker Avelon Gomes punished the rival goalkeeper with neat finish.
Spurred by the early lead, Navelim Sporting Club raised the tempo and Anthony Fernandes doubled the lead with a stiff grounder.
Crossing over, Navelim Sporting Club slackened their pace and allowed their opponents to launch attacks. Their efforts bore the fruit when Vishal Vaingankar reduced the deficit.
Unfazed Navelim Sporting Club launched series of attacks and substitute Alvito strike twice to sealed the rival fate.
