Bail pleas rejected in cheating case

MARGAO: Bail application filed by Loudovina Remedian alias Reena Dourado, of Majorda and the anticipatory bail plea of Cajetan alias Cajie Constancio D'silva, Govott, Nuvem were rejected by the South Goa Sessions Judge, Nutan Sardesai on Monday.

MARGAO: Bail application filed by Loudovina Remedian alias Reena Dourado, of Majorda and the anticipatory bail plea of Cajetan alias Cajie Constancio D’silva, Govott, Nuvem were rejected by the South Goa Sessions Judge, Nutan Sardesai on Monday.
Both the accused have been charged under section 420 read with 34 IPC, for cheating several persons for lakhs of rupees.
On a complaint from Antonieta Fernandes Dias, Per-Seraulim, Margao police had arrested Dourado on January 6 and is presently in custody while Cajie moved for anticipatory bail.
Public Prosecutor Subhash Desai argued that applicants have allegedly cheated several persons for lakhs of rupees on the pretext of selling them plot at Nuvem and that said amount has to be recovered from the accused.
In her complaint, Dias stated that on October 29, 2011 at Margao accused with common intention induced the complainant with dishonest intention to pay Rs 1.40 lakh on the pretext of providing plot at Nuvem and failed to deliver thereby cheated the complaint. Dourado when interrogated confessed to have taken money from many persons on direction of Cajie with whom he handed the cash. 
Earlier the JMFC, Margao had rejected bail application filed by Dourado who then moved the district court for bail which was also been rejected.
