MAPUSA: Calangute police busted a sex racket operating in Calangute by arresting a pimp Harish Sukumar, a native of Bangalore and rescued a girl. The rescued girl is from Delhi.
According to Calangute PI Jivba Dalvi, police received confidential information that a person is supplying girls for prostitution in Calangute. Immediately, PI Jivba Dalvi formed a team and conducted a raid on Monday midnight and nabbed the pimp.
Calangute police also requisitioned the local an NGO during the raid and later sent the rescued girl to Merces protective home. Police have also initiated the process to freeze all the bank accounts handled by accused person.
The police have registered the crime under Section 370 IPC and Section 4 and 5 of Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956.
