225 is more than enough

This is with reference to the article ‘Furore at Collem as trips to Dudhsagar curtailed.’ 225 trips were bad enough and 325 will make the situation worse. As the vehicles are diesel jeeps the pollution, noise and dust caused to the environment and wildlife would be stressful. Tourist load and jeeps will continue to increase every year. It does not mean the forest system has to cope with this added load. In Goa it’s all about money and nobody thinks about preserving the environment. Stop harping about mining closure and work towards alternatives. If there are surplus jeeps other ideas of using them for gainful employment must be looked at. It would be in everyone’s interest to disallow more trips than the present 225 to Dudhsagar falls. I hope the forest department takes the right steps.
