MARGAO: Despite the satisfaction shown by Sports Minister, the Fatorda Constituency MLA Vijai Sardessai criticized the State government for hiring Percept Event Management services for the opening ceremony.
“It’s a shame that we’ve to hire the services for the cultural programme from outside the State. We have so many noted cultural artistes like famed Francisco Martins, who had made Goa proud by winning laurels at the Republic Parade but the government has awarded the show to Percept to showcase Goan culture and heritage at the Games.”
“The government has also hired taxis from the neighbouring state of Maharashtra when so many Goans are owners of taxis which are available but was overlooked by the government officials,” voiced Sardessai.
But Sardessai was a happy man because his constituency got added development in the widening of roads and other facilities.
