611 Rajasthan Schools Without Buildings, Govt Admits Lapses Amid CJP ‘Checks’

Rajasthan’s BJP government has informed the state Assembly that 611 government schools are functioning without their own buildings, highlighting concerns over school infrastructure. The disclosure came amid the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign, under which volunteers have been visiting government schools to assess their condition and facilities.

The government cited UDISE data for 2025-26 under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan and blamed the previous Congress government led by Ashok Gehlot for the infrastructure gaps. The BJP described the condition of government schools as a legacy it was working to address.

The issue has gained attention following CJP visits to schools, including one in Jaipur’s Bagru constituency. CJP co-convenor Ashutosh Ranka alleged that volunteers were attacked during the visit. The party has also raised concerns about schools operating from unsafe structures and temporary sheds.
