PANJIM: In an effort to mount pressure on the government for hike in bus fare, the All Goa Private Bus Owners Association (AGPBOA) on Thursday yet again staged a demonstration outside the Transport Department office.
AGPBOA General Secretary Sudip Tamhankar demanded that considering the rising fuel prices, the government should increase bus fares by at least Rs 10 for the first five kilometers. “We had submitted our proposal to the government in July for revision in bus fares but till date our demand has not been considered. We will continue to protest till our demand is met,” he said.
Tamhankar also said that along with hike in fare, our long pending insurance subsidies be cleared at the earliest and want waiver on road tax payment.
