AGENCIES, BHOPAL: Goa University won the West Zone Inter University Cricket Championship for Women at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
In the last league match, Goa University lost to S P Pune University by 4 wicket, however better performance in the previous two league matches helped Goa University to win the Championship on better run rate
Goa University won the toss and elected to bat first. Sugandha Ghadi (45), Vanita Bhandari(32), Sherya Parab (10) contributed to a total of 139 all out in 40 overs.
S P Pune University chased the target successfully with the loss of 6 wickets in 33 overs.
Ciya Phaldesai, Shindiya Naik, Diksha Gaude and Vanita Bhandari all claimed a wicket apiece.
