MAPUSA: Nineteen-year-old Ankit Singh, a native of Uttarakhand, went missing after a strong wave pulled four youth into the water at Sinquerim on Wednesday evening.
According to Calangute police, the missing boy had come for a picnic with his three friends from South Goa. The boys walked towards the rocks below Taj Hotel and sat there as a strong wave pulled them into the sea.
However, three boys managed to crawl back to safety, while Ankit was pulled away into the sea.
Police searched for the missing person with the help of Dhrishti life guard, but could not trace him.
Calangute police have accordingly informed Goa Coast Guard, Coastal Security Police station and Marine police to help search and rescue Ankit.
