AAP demands recovery money due from illegally extracted ore

PANJIM: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Goa has demanded that the State government recover money from illegally extracted ore since 2007 and compensate mining dependents from it.
Speaking to the media, AAP leader Elvis Gomes said that none of the MLAs were talking about the recovery of money of illegally extracted ore.
“Government should recover the huge wealth and compensate the mining dependents. We feel all MLAs are trying to give mining in the same hands to loot the State’s wealth,” Gomes said.
AAP leader Siddharth Karapurkar said that as per the court order the loss to the State can be calculated to Rs 98,400 crore and if this is recovered and compensated there will be no protests.
“If we calculate the loot and divide it by the population of the State, then each individual gets Rs 7 lakh, considering four members per family, it becomes Rs 28 lakh per family. We are not against mining but the illegally looted wealth should be recovered and compensated to the right people.”
Karapurkar added, “All mining dependents and people in allied businesses along with the farmers who have lost agricultural land can be compensated with the recovered money.”
“If government fails to recover this stolen wealth than we feel that this government is anti-Goan,” he said.
