MARGAO: South Goa BJP has criticised Rohan Khaunte for his comments against Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant. The BJP claims that Rohan Khaunte is worried due to his dropping support base.
South Goa BJP President Tulsidas Naik addressing the media persons in the presence of Sharmad Raiturkar, Satyavijay Naik and Sunil Naik said that Khaunte who keeps criticising the Chief Minister should know that he is a hard working man and works for 16 to 18 hours a day.

“Everyone knows that there is only one ‘Pappu’ in the country and you can’t call a person by that name, who is known for his hard work and performance,” said Tulsidas.
“May be some of Khaunte’s work has halted since he is criticising. While he criticises the quarantine facilities for the travellers coming to Goa, he has to introspect how the 6,000 voters have increased in his constituency,” advised Tulisdas.
“Khaunte is worried, his support base is slipping off his hand and his businesses are not working. How mangroves have been destroyed, how some forest covers have been removed from Porvorim he has to introspect,” he added.
Sharmad said, “The attempt that Opposition is making to show that it is an emergency situation in Goa for COVID-19 due to increase of cases and making it look like community spread. The same people who were demanding return of the seafarers are opposing the Goans coming back to Goa on trains. Why just seafarers but all the Goans who are stuck outside have to be brought back and the government is taking care of that.
“They are spreading falsehoods and not just Khaunte. Our ‘leaders of opportunities’ have done the same with the issue claiming that Goa is becoming Red Zone from Green. He did the same with the Class X exam by making irresponsible comments,” alleged Sharmad.
“We know how hard Chief Minister is working to handle the COVID situation. We know and we don’t want the certification of Khaunte for that,” he said.
