Varsity baseball trials
PANJIM: The Goa University will hold selection trials to select the baseball teams on January 8 and 9 at Fatorda complex from 3 p.m. Those interested may report with I-card at the venue. The men and women teams will participate in All-India Inter-University Baseball Championship organized by University of Delhi.
Advocates football tourney
PANJIM: The first all-Goa advocates football tournament organized by Mapusa Advocates Forum will be held on January 12 and 13 at Sangolda panchayat ground from 9 a.m. Nine teams from Margao, Panjim, High Court, Ponda, Vasco, Bicholim will participate.The finals will be played on January 13 at 4.15 p.m.

MARGAO: Sucaldem Youth Club will cross swards wiith DPM, Dandeavado in the inaugural match of Chinchinim Villagers Trophy football tournament organized by Union of Chinchinim Villagers at church ground, Chinchinim, on Tuesday
Sarzora , Santa Cruz Club of Tolleaband, Secremavaddo, DPM B , BMC, Draamapur , Secreamvaddo, Sirlim Sports Club, Our Lady of Fatima Sports Club, Baida, Youth of Sarzora, Palmar Grande, St Anthony’s Dessua, Durga Sports Club, Naroanpoi Sports Club and XYZ, Baida will vie for top honours. . The winner will be richer by Rs 8,000 while the runners-up will receive Rs 6,000.
Trikannad schools cricket
PANJIM: The 14th Late Mukund Trikannad memorial all-Goa inter-school cricket tournament organized by Margao Cricket Club will be held from January 28 at Dr Rajendra Prasad stadium, Margao. Students born on or after 1.9.1996 and studying in upto Std X are eligible. Institutions may submit their entries at MCC office, Margao before January 20.
