PANJIM: The Congress on Tuesday demanded that the State government immediately take steps to acquire the Bondvol lake in St Cruz after the issue was highlighted in Herald’s Tuesday edition.
Addressing the media in Panjim on Tuesday, Congress spokesperson Urfan Mulla said the lake can be renovated and beautified to attract tourists visiting the State.
Herald had reported on Tuesday that locals are demanding acquisition of the lake area for tourism purposes.
The lake is presently in possession of a tenant, whereas the original custodian Kalapur Comunidade is fighting a court battle to get back the lake area.
