Police rescue three Ponda residents from abductors in M’rashta

PONDA: Mardol police arrested seven Haryana natives in Maharashtra in connection with the abduction of three residents from Kundaim, Ponda. With the help of Maharashtra Police, all three victims were rescued.

The offence was registered under Section 140(3)(4) read with 3(5) of the BNS Act, 2023. The complaint was lodged by Sonu Lathar, a resident of Haryana, who reported that on Sept 25, at 7.30 PM near Manaswada, Kundaim, the accused, Manoj Yadav, along with six unidentified accomplices, abducted his brother-in-law Mahendra Yadav, sister-in-law Manju Mahendra Yadav, and wife Sonam. The victims were forcibly taken in a white car to an unknown location with the intent of wrongful confinement and to cause grievous harm.

The arrested individuals include Manoj Kumar, Mahipal, Bir Singh, Satyapal, Deepak, Sumer Singh and Bajarang, all from Haryana.

The victims were safely brought back to the police station, and further investigations are being carried out by PI Yogesh Sawant of Mardol Police Station under the supervision of SDPO Ponda Arshi Adil and SP South, Sunita Sawant.
