Naik was speaking at a function organised by the Bhandari Samaj to felicitate meritorious students of their community at Ghadge Maharaj hall, Porvorim.
“Education is important because it equips us with the expertise that is needed to achieve our career goals. Hence, every student should acquire education to face the challenges in life. Education fetches better prospects of career growth,” said Naik.
St Andre MLA Vishnu Wagh said good education is an eligibility criterion for employment in any sector of the industry. “We are weighed in the market on the basis of our educational skills and how well we can apply them. Hence, every student should study with devotion and try to pass with flying colours. I will impress upon the State government to fill the available vacancies of OBC,” assured Wagh.
Ponda MLA Lavoo Mamledar, Entertainment Society of Goa Chairman Damodar Naik, former MLA Narahari Haldankar and Bahandari Samaj President Anil Hoble also spoke on the occasion.
On the occasion, Shripad Naik was felicitated with a shawl, sriphal and a memento. In all, 375 meritorious students who excelled in various faculties of Goa University and Goa Board were awarded scholarships. Anand Naik compered the function, while Vaman Khandeparker proposed the vote of thanks.
