Payment for milk supply on its way, Goa Dairy assures farmers

Goa Dairy Chairman Rajesh Faldesai explained that the payment for milk procured from October 1 to 15 was delayed only due to bank holidays.

PONDA: Goa Dairy Chairman Rajesh Faldesai on Tuesday urged dairy farmers not to panic about the payment of their bills towards milk supply.  He said their bill amount of Rs 2.5 crore was already deposited in the bank, but may not have reached them due to the three consecutive bank holidays due to Diwali.

 He was reacting to some farmers who had raised the alarm over not being paid on time.  “The festival of lights has already begun and we cannot celebrate it as our pending bills have not been cleared by Goa Dairy,” said a section of  farmers. Faldesai explained that the payment for milk procured from October 1 to 15 was delayed only due to bank holidays.
