PANJIM: Navelim Villagers Union put up a strong display as they blanked Cancacona SA 6-0 in the Goa Football Association GFA U-14 League match, played at Cavelossim ground, on Saturday.
Adarsh Raj and Cleavan D’Costa scored a brace each while A Saikirama and Dezwin Dias were the other goal scorers.
Navelim VU attacked from the word go as Adash and Dezwin made regular inroads in rival defence and the latter scored his first in the 3rd minute. Stunned by reverse, Canacona SA tried to get back into the game but they just couldn’t get past the Navelim midfield. Navelim scored the second at the half hour mark through Saikuaram. Navelim VU led 2-0 at the breather.
Crossing over, Adarsh Raj scored the third at the hour mark. The Canacona players were virtually and visibly tired in second half as Navelim Villagers Union scored three more goals through Cleavan Dias brace and Ararsh Raj, who also netted his brace.
In another match at Rosary ground, Navelim Sarzora SC scored a resounding 6-1 win over United Club of Telaulim. Jonathan Leitao scored a brace for the winners while Alexandre also scored two. Shahid and Gauon are the other two scorers. Sudarshan M managed to score for the losing side.
At Siolim ground, Baburao Shetye scored a brace as St Anthony SC Marna beat St Christopher SC. Domnic Fernandes and Deepraj Salgaocar were the other scorers for the winners. Nayeem and Shyam scored from St Chirstopher.
