It was an unexpected result for Dempo SC but an excellent result for youthful Panjim Footballers who gave their hearts out against the mighty Golden Eagles at their fortress.
The City based team played free-flowing football which entertained the handful of spectators at Ella ground. But among the talented youngsters which featured players between the age group of 18-25, captain cool Kunal Kundaikar was simply exceptional.
The Goa Velha lad simply outwitted experienced Beevan D’Mello, Pedro Gonsalves and co.
The lanky defender played as a leader, whether aerial duels or ground clearances, Kunal was there to rescue his side with timely clearances. Dempo SC created lot of chances but Panjim were able to deal with most of their attempts through the 21 year-old who played as the last man.
