CARMONA: Navelim Villagers Union outplayed Guirdolim SC 4-1 to move into the semi-finals of the John Cruz Ferrao Memorial cup football tournament organised by Carmona Sports Club, at village panchayat ground, Carmona, on Monday.
Navelim scored in the 13th minute through Rovan Pereira’s arrow boUnd shot.
Navelim netted two more goals through Preston Costa’s long range shots in the 23rd and 25th minutes. Sevroy D’Costa pulled a goal back for Guirdolim in the 49th minute.
With just a minute left for the final whistle, Navelim’s Travis Souza recorded his name on the scoresheet to make it 4-1 for Navelim. Rovan Pereira of Navelim Villagers Union was named the man-of-the-match.
