NAGMODEM-NAVELIM: Navelim Villagers Union blanked Carmona SC 3-0 to move into the quarter-finals of the Navelim Villagers Union trophy in memory of Nelson and Bazeliana Coelho, at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Saturday.
Carmona defender Yuri Ferrao was in thick of action Yuri should have netted in the second and third minute but the latter’s shots were saved by the Navelim keeper.
It was Clinton Niasso who netted the first goal of the match in the fourth minute thereafter Navelim midfielder Climax Lawrence missed two great chances in the eighth and 10th minutes.
As the match progressed, in the 48th minute, Travis D’Souza doubled the account for Navelim.
Thereafter, Aulon Gomes made it 3-0 for Navelim.
Navelim Villagers Union will meet the winners of Sao Jose de Areal and Goa Velha SC in the quarter-finals on November 6.
