Will try to find solution to double tracking wherever possible: CM

A day after the South Western Railways and Cortalim MLA Anton Vaz declared that no houses will be affected since the track will be shifted to the eastern side, people are in disbelief. They alleged that the railways have not given anything in writing and hence there is a trust deficit. Former Environment Minister Alina Saldanha said there is a road on the eastern side, so such an alignment will go close to the road.

Reading from the Voice of Goa Herald, Environment Minister Alina Saldanha said it is amazing that the Cortalim MLA says only three houses will be affected. It is an attempt to mislead the people she said. Activist Xencor Polgi said the railways are hell-bent on double tracking to transporting coal which had a devastating effect on the Port Town of Vasco. These villages too will suffer the same fate, he said.
